I remember fondly each December 1st when my mother would bring out the advent calendars she bought for my brothers and I. They were filled with terrible, tiny chocolates that I would never eat now. But when you are a kid chocolate it chocolate and, really, it was more about the countdown to Christmas that made the Advent calendars so exciting! Times have changed since I was a kid. But kids have not. I know my daughter still loves the daily treat that marks the days leading up to Christmas. But there are so many options now when it comes to the calendars. We actually ditched the store bought advent calendars a few years ago when I purchased a cute wooden calendar with 25 little drawers that I can fill with treats myself.
Why should kids have all the fun? We adults work pretty hard to make the holidays special. It can be emotionally and financially draining. I think we should get a treat too! I’ve never had a grown up Advent calendar myself but I think maybe it’s time. They started to become a thing a few years ago and every year I see more and more adult Advent calendar offerings. Here are a few that caught my eye:

But if they aren’t, or you don’t have one close by, or maybe you just love Brock St. Brewing you can order one online. You can order your calendar already filled with a variety of Brock St. beers or you can also just order the calendar without the beer and stock if with your favorites. The complete calendar with beer is $99 or the empty calendar will cost you $25.
