There’s No Place Like Mom

There’s No Place Like Mom

This one is for the moms. To each and every one of you. I want to tell you that you are amazing AF. You make the world a better place and you are raising kids that are going to make the world a better place. You feel all the feels. Motherhood makes you do that. The highs and lows. The fear and the heart ache. The pride and the joy. You have cried a billion tears and you will cry several billion more. Some days are hard. So hard you want to run away. But you don’t. Because you are mom. You are needed. And even if you don’t always know it – you are appreciated. You really are. And you are loved. So loved. And you are doing a great job. I know it doesn’t always feel that way. You have doubts. Of course you do. There is no instruction manual for this. Hell even the “experts” don’t always agree on how to do this. But you follow your heart and put everything you have into this. That’s all you can do.

I just want you to know, on this Mother’s Day, and every day really, but especially today because this is YOUR day, that you rock. There is no place like mom. Mom is the port in the storm. The kisser of boo boos. The sucker of snot. The diffuser of tantrums. The one that somehow manages to make it all better. You can whip up and pack a lunch even your pickiest eater will eat. You are the queen of play dates and dance make up.  You’ve got this. You really do. And from one mother to another thank you. Thank you for everything you do. Thank you for creating and raising that awesome kid that sits on the school bus every day with my kid. The one that she laughs with at recess on the monkey bars. The one that she imagines being her BFF forever. We are all in this together. The sisterhood of motherhood. We might not be BFFs ourselves but we all want the same thing. To have healthy, happy kids that put good into this world. Our lives might be completely different. We may have different politics and come from different backgrounds. But what we have in common is far more powerful than what we don’t. We are moms and there simply is no place like mom.
