I am a very fair skinned redhead. We are famous for having sensitive and often dry skin. Even at the best of times I need a good moisturizer to keep my skin hydrated. And once winter hits I need to pull out all the stops. In this dry weather my skin will get red, flaky and even painful if I don’t take care of it properly. And the older I get the less moisture my skin retains so finding, and using, the right products is essential.
How do you know which product is right for you? Well, to start, it helps to shop for skincare in a place that has a really good selection. A great place to visit is Shoppers Drug Mart. They have a huge selection of products to fit every need and every budget. Beyond having a great selection to choose from, having access to tools and experts can big a huge help when it comes to figuring out exactly what you need. Shoppers Drug Mart has in-store Beauty Experts that can walk you through a skin care consultation using the beautyRx tool. The Skins Analysis will check the hydration levels in your skin through the moisture checker and use a Video Microscope to magnify your skin’s surface up to 30 times to help diagnose your skin type. If you’ve never done this before I really recommend it. It’s pretty amazing to see those magnified images of how your skin really looks! Once your Beauty Expert has gone though the Skin Analysis she will be recommend the skin products that are right for you.
I have a few favourite skin care products and one on the top of my list is No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Serum. It is one of my go to products, especially in the winter months. I love serums. I love how they go on and how they feel on my skin. The No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Serum feels like silk on my skin. It’s smooth, not at all greasy and soaks in well leaving my face feel soft and hydrated. I realized years ago, once I hit 30, that investing in good quality anti aging products was worth every penny.
The Biotherm Aquasource Cocoon is on my wish list this year. I’ve used and loved other products from Biotherm and specifically from their Aquasource line. They always offer deep hydration and are easy on my sensitive skin. The Aquasource cocoon is a lightweight gel which, along with serums, are my favorite type of product. And there is something about the term “cocoon” that sounds comforting and protecting!
