If you are the parent of a toddler or preschool age girl you have probably experienced the phenomena I call “Glitter Lust”. Little girls love glitter. It’s hardwired into them. And glitter is messy! So, so messy. You can sweep, vacuum, mop, bring in an industrial cleaning team and still not get rid of glitter. It’s like a parasite. I happen to have a little girl who loves glitter and has a bit of a thing for snow globes. At the tender age of three she has already amassed quite the collection. So what if you could give a girl glitter – that doesn’t make a mess – and a whole collection of “snow” (glitter actually) globes in one box? Well I can tell you that you have one thrilled little girl and one happy mom!
What are Glitzi Globes?
Glitzi Globes are a very cool activity set where your little one can make their very own glitter globes! The set that we received (as well as the set I will be giving away) is the Glitzi Showcase. The showcase has everything you need to make 4 small globes, 1 mega globe and a Glitzi Showcase to display them on!
The easy to use Glitzi Showcase creates beautiful Glitzi Globes in just minutes – and gives you a place to showcase them! Just add your character, fill water and shake! Tada! Now put ’em in the base and show ’em off. Oh, and check out the mega spinning carousel you can make…
The Glitzi Globes are recommended for kids age 5 and up. My little girl is 3 1/2 and although she never would have been able to do this all on her own, with our help she had a blast making Glitzi Globes. She loved the adorable little ponies and other creatures and couldn’t wait to get them all on the showcase and spin the carousel!
This was just a really fun (and not too messy) activity. Although, as said above, my 3 1/2 year old couldn’t do everything herself there was plenty she could do with our guidance. When you first see the box, and all of the pieces I’ll admit it looks a little daunting. But actually it’s all pretty straight forward and once you finish your first globe you have the whole thing figured out. And because the glitter comes in pellets that don’t open up until they are safely in the globe there is no glitter mess! This was the perfect activity for a cold winter evening and a great way to spend some family time.
I know lots of little girls who I know would love this just as much as Molly did and Glitzi Globes would make a great Christmas gift. You can find them at Walmart, Toys R Us, Sears and Target stores. They sell for around $25 (for the Showcase package). In addition to the Showcase you can also buy a starter kit and several varieties of smaller packs to add to your collection.
