This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Aviva Community Fund. All opinions are 100% mine.
A few weeks ago I wrote this post about the Aviva Community Fund. To give you a recap – The Aviva Community Fund is an annual competition, with funding and support from Aviva Insurance. The goal of the competition is to foster positive change in local communities. In total $1,000,000 will be distributed to support community projects across Canada.
People are encouraged to submit their ideas that support a community within Canada. The best ideas are the ones that are action driven and can be implemented by December 2013.
To date there have been literally hundreds of ideas submitted and we have now moved into Round 2 – the second qualifiying round of voting (by the way it’s not too late to submit and idea!). There are so many amazing ideas submitted! I really enourage you, if you haven’t done so already, to visit the site and find an idea or ideas that are important to you and cast your vote.
How do you vote?
Voting is easy. You do have to register to vote but it’s very quick and easy. You can either register through the website or, to make things even easier, you can simply use Facebook Connect to vote. If you do decide to vote via Facebook Connect you then have the option to vote through the Aviva Community Fund website or through their Facebook page.
The top vote getters from the qualifying and semi final rounds move on to the finals. The 30 ideas that make it in to the finals are then scored by judges against specific criteria. All finalists will receive at least $5,000 in support of their idea. The community fund is then distributed to an idea from each of the size categories (small, medium and large). $150,000 of the fund will be reserved to support the “At Risk Youth” prize and another $150,000 for the “Broker Supported ” prize. Once all of the winners in these categories have been funded they will continue to give money to other finalists (based on rank and score) until the entire fund of $1,000,000 has been allocated.
When can you vote?
Round 2 of voting runs from October 22nd to November 5th and Round 3 runs from November 12th to November 26th. Once these qualifying rounds are complete the Semi Final phase begins on December 3rd and runs until December 12th.
How often can you vote?
You can vote 15 times during each round. You can only vote one time in a day for an individual idea.
How many ideas can I vote for?
Well you have 15 votes per round so you can chose to use those votes for as many ideas (up to 15) as you like.
The Aviva Community fund provides an amazing opportunity for people to show how much they care about what is happening in their community and to show their support to those people and organizations that really need it. There is such a wide spectrum of ideas in the competition that it won’t be difficult to find at least one (probably more) that is important you to. So, take a moment to cast your vote and let your community know that you care!
