Cinnamon Pear Loaf Recipe
  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1 cup of white sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda
  • ¼ tsp of salt
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 egg
  • ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • ΒΌ cup of vegetable oil (I use canola)
  • 1 just ripe pear sliced (I prefer Bartlett for this recipe)
Sugar Cinnamon Mix
  • ⅓ cup of brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Grease and line a loaf pan with parchment paper.
  3. In a large bowl mix together the flour, white sugar, baking soda and salt.
  4. Add the milk, egg, vanilla and oil.
  5. Mix just until all of the ingredients are well combined.
  6. In a small dish mix together the brown sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Spread half the batter into the loaf pan.
  8. Sprinkle half of the sugar cinnamon mixture over the batter.
  9. Top with the remaining batter.
  10. Using a bread knife to gently make figure 8s through the batter to swirl the cinnamon sugar mixture.
  11. Layer the pear slices on top of the loaf (see picture in post above).
  12. Sprinkle with the remaining sugar cinnamon mix.
  13. Bake for 45-55 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
