It’s Time To Talk Back to School

I know not everybody wants to talk about back to school. Because that means the end of summer. The end of long sunny days and summer holidays. But, I’m sorry, we need to talk about it. Because it’s coming! And even before school officially starts there are some things you can do to get your kids (and yourself!) ready to get back to it!

Get to bed – Summer break might mean staying up late and sleeping in. It’s a good idea at least a week ahead of back to school to get that sleep schedule back on school time so kids have the best start possible to their day.

Make a morning routine – Chances are, unless your little one is just starting school, you have a pretty good idea what mornings look like. But it never hurts to write down a schedule so kids have an idea of what they need to go and how time they have to do it.

Make an evening routine – You may not know just yet what your evenings will look like because most extracurricular activities don’t start until the kids are back at school, but plan what you can so kids know what is expected of them and also to make mornings easier!

Plan out school lunches – School lunches are my kryptonite. My daughter isn’t really what you would call a picky eater, but lunch box lunches are a challenge. There are lots of things she will eat warm for dinner but that just aren’t the same cold. At her age they don’t have access to a microwave at school and not everything works in a thermos.

I find it helpful to work with Molly to brainstorm some ideas that we can both live with. And actually taking her to the grocery store to roam the aisles and pick things out is not only really helpful but a lot of fun! It’s one thing to just ask her what she wants but it’s so much easier when she can actually see all the possible options.  She will find things that she never would have thought of otherwise. This is become part of our back to school shopping ritual!

Welch’s Fruit Snacks and Fruit ’n Yogurt Snacks hit all the marks for Molly and me. She loves everything about them – the taste, the texture. And I love that they are the perfect school snack size. They come in a variety of flavours to keep things interesting and they are made with real fruit.

I also love the convenience of them. I do try my best to plan lunches ahead of time but, honestly, it doesn’t always happen. Life gets in the way and some mornings it’s a mad scramble to throw some things in the lunch bag and get out the door!

That’s when it’s great to have things like Welch’s Fruit Snacks and Welch’s Fruit ’n Yogurt Snacks on hand. They literally are a grab-and-go snack that I can throw in with the rest of her lunch and it’s done! They also happen to make the perfect after school snack that Molly can even eat in the car (without making a mess) on our way home so I often throw a pouch in my purse before I leave in the morning.

You can find Welch’s Fruit Snacks and Welch’s Fruit ’n Yogurt Snacks at your local Walmart and make sure to go over and grab your coupon now!
