This morning I saw my little girl off to her very first day of grade one! I can’t believe how quickly the summer flew by and that my baby is now a full fledged school kid. Because my husband and I both work full time outside of the home there won’t be a huge shift in our routine now that Molly is in school all day but there will be little changes, and a lot of little changes can add up. Things like having to get breakfast in to her before she head out (she ate breakfast at daycare in the summer) and keeping her school clothes looking good. At daycare they spent so much time getting dirty (which isn’t a bad thing in my opinion) that I could really send her in anything but school is different. She wants to look her best and the kid is quite the fashionista. And of course now that fall is almost here that also means back to sports. Molly has a cheer class and an acro class every week – which means more clothes and uniforms to keep clean.
What’s your secret weapon in the laundry room? Personally I am a huge OxiClean™ fan and they have a product for pretty much every laundry need I’ve come across. To keep colours looking their brightest there’s OxiClean™ Colour Shield Liquid Laundry Stain Remover. And OxiClean™ White Revive™ Stain Remover Powder has your whites covered as it’s specially formulated to maintain whites – without chlorine bleach! For inevitable stains, turn to OxiClean™ Laundry Stain Remover Spray and OxiClean™ Max Force™ Gel Stick to pre-treat in advance of your next laundry day.
Another change that comes, for me, with my daughter being in school full time is that I can get back to my regular gym routine. When she was in half day kindergarten it meant my husband and I taking turns every day picking her up on our lunch breaks to take her to daycare for the afternoon. Now I have my lunch hours back which means I get my regular gyms times back! I’m pretty happy about that. Of course, while I get back into that routine, and forget I have to slowly ramp up to where I left off when I had more time for the gym, I know there will be days that I over due it. Topical pain relievers such as RUB·A535™ Extra Strength Heating Cream are essential to have on hand for those muscle aches and pains. It delivers fast-acting, warm, penetrating relief of muscle, joint, back and arthritic pain. Luckily I didn’t completely drop my work out routine so I don’t think it will be bad but it’s good to know I have something that will help if I need it.
Another milestone for my six year old is that she lost her first baby tooth recently! Now she literally checks for new wiggly teeth every day. I’ve never seen a kid so excited about losing teeth as this one. And now that her grown up teeth are coming in she is extra particular about taking care of them. Not that we haven’t always taken care of her teeth but she just knows these are her forever teeth. Now this doesn’t mean she’s eager to brush her teeth EVERY time. Mornings are generally good but sometimes the before bed brushing, when she’s tired, is met with some complaining. So we do what we can to make it not feel like a chore and make it something she actually wants to do. She does enjoy using the Arm & Hammer™ Spinbrush™ Kids Battery Toothbrush. My Little Pony™ is her current favorite (do you ever outgrow My Little Pony?).
What kind of changes does back to school bring for your family? Do you have any tips to make it go smoothly? I’d love to hear them!
