My daughter is turning five this month. It’s hard to believe some days! She will be off to school in the fall and even though I might not be ready she sure is. Every single day I am amazed at her capacity and desire to learn. She is soaking everything in and developing in leaps and bounds. And I see it in all aspects of her life. A great example of that is in the kitchen. Molly loves to help me cook and it seems like just days ago cooking with her was a ton of work, not to mention messy. Don’t get me wrong, I still loved it and got her involved with cooking every suitable chance. But now she’s actually helpful. She can measure. She can cut things that don’t require a sharp knife. She’s better at mixing and most days (not all) more of the final product goes on the tray then in her mouth.
A few weeks ago my daughter helped me make Caramel Pretzel Peanut Butter Snack Bites and we had a blast. Recipes like Peanut Butter Snack Bites are perfect for little kitchen helpers. Because they are a no bake snack you know that all of the ingredients, like the Kraft Crunchy Peanut Butter, that touch little hands (and mouths) are safe to eat while they are going into the bowl and since there is no cooking they can help from start to finish. Molly really loved rolling the balls and, of course, being my taste tester!
We loved making, and eating Kraft Peanut Butter Snack Bites so much that there is no doubt we will be making them again very soon. I’ve been looking at the various recipes on the Kraft website and I think I’ve got the next recipe picked out – Confetti Peanut Butter Snack Bites.
Kraft Smooth Peanut Butter, honey, rolled oats, crisp rice cereal and the best part (in my 5 year old’s opinion) fruit flavoured mini marshmallows! Sounds tasty doesn’t it? And they are so simple to make. You just mix everything together, chill and roll into balls. You can find this recipe and many more at www.sticktogether.ca
The Make it Yours photo contest just wrapped up and the winners were picked. This was a fun contest that had people whip up their own twist on Kraft Peanut Butter Snack Bites, snap a photo and submit it. There were some awesome entries into this contest and the 4 lucky winners (and their recipes) are: Maria Medeiros, Debbie Flynn, Rebecca Hart and Shanaz Allia.
Head on over to sheblogs Canada and check out the submissions and find even more great recipes! To join the conversation, follow #MyKPBsnackbite on Twitter!
