New At Walmart Canada- Online Baby Registry!

New At Walmart Canada- Online Baby Registry!

It’s only been 4 years since my daughter was born and we celebrated, like most parents do, with a baby shower.  We actually waited until after she was born to have the shower because we decided not to find out our baby’s gender while we were expecting and also because I felt it would be a great opportunity for friends and family to actually meet and spend time with our new addition. Since we waited until after her birth for the shower we already had most of the essentials that we needed for those first few weeks of her life. So, I thought it would be a good idea to register online for the shower so our guests had some ideas of what we actually needed.  I registered with one of the few places that had a baby registry.  I have to tell you the selection was not great and the prices were not much better. In the end very few of our guests actually ended up buying gifts from the registry and I can’t blame them.

Walmart Canada Online Baby Registry

Fast forward four years and I am thrilled to tell you that expecting and new parents have a an exciting new option to register for baby items.  Walmart Canada has just launched their Online Baby Registry.

Walmart is Canada’s number one source for infant care products so the introduction of the Baby Registry makes perfect sense. With a huge selection of products, free shipping and the every day affordable prices we have come to expect from Walmart, I for one am pretty stoked about this new online service.  If you need more reasons to check it out here are a few:

  • A huge selection of brands that parents know and trust
  • The registry is mobile friendly – you can set up , view and even edit your registry on the go
  • Free shipping with NO minimum purchase
  • A Baby Resource Centre that offers expert advice, tips and articles on topics that are relevant to parents
  • Walmart’s usual stress free return policy

Creating your registry is easy.  Just sign up for an account (if you are an online Walmart shopper you probably already have one), enter a few details about your bundle of joy and start building your registry.  You can browse the relevant categories for gift ideas:

Or you can simply browse the Walmart site. When you find an item you like simply click on the “add to registry” button. Your registry keeps track of all the items you have added and lets you know when someone had purchased something from your list. And sharing your registry is easy too.  You can make your registry public so your friends and family can find it simply by searching by your name or you can choose to make it private so only those that have the link you share can find it (you can also share the link if your registry is public).

Whether you need bigger items like a car seat or play yard or you want to stock up on the every day essentials like diapers and wipes you will find everything baby needs and give your friends and family tons of options to help you welcome baby home. I really wish the Walmart Baby Registry was available when my little one was born and I absolutely will be telling any of my expecting friends and family about it!

I’m willing to bet that just about all of us parents received baby gifts that we probably never took out of the box. Either because we already had one or it was just something we never really needed.  Having a registry with so many options available and options that fit into almost every budget, it just got a whole lot easier to ensure you don’t wind up with items that you won’t use. And when you are a new parent you have more pressing things to do then trudge off to the store returning things.  And with the Walmart Baby Registry if you do need to return something you have 90 days (on most purchases) to do it so no need to panic about rushing out to the store.

Did you have a baby registry when your little one(s) were born?  Did you find it useful – did people actually use it?

  1. I'm so glad Walmart Canada made this available! It really makes it easy to let people know what you need and want without actually having to go to the store. I did do a registry for my son who is almost 2 but haven't yet for my second and I am 20 weeks pregnant. I haven't decided if I'll do one or not since I'm not having a shower.

  2. Man, that's great! I used a registry for the same reasons as you, but I doubt anyone used it. I often look at registries for other people and then find a more reasonably priced version elsewhere

  3. I didn't have a baby registry or shower. I did email out a list of items that would be useful/we would like to have but it would have been easier to use a formal registry like Walmart. Love that their return policy is 90 days.

  4. Thanks for the post. I really don't have any idea about online baby registry. After reading this post, I am knowing about this. Thank you again for given this information.
