My daughter is finally at that age where she can actually sit down and watch a movie in it’s entirety. It’s awesome. Not only because it’s a nice little break from our hectic lives but also because it gives ME an excuse to watch cartoons! So when I had the opportunity to review the new My Little Pony Equestria Girls I couldn’t possibly pass it up!
My Little Pony Equestria Girls if the new full length feature film with an exciting new dimension to the ever so popular My Little Pony brand. The movie was released just last week and is available online at Amazon.com, Amazon.ca and Walmart.ca. It is available on DVD or Blu-ray/DVD/Digital combo.
My Little Pony Equestria, follows the freshly crowned Twilight Sparkle’s adventures as she is still trying to adjust to her new status and wings only to have her magic crown snatched away. The Thief? Crossing over into the other world Twilight finds that she has been changed into a teenage girl in high school. To save both worlds, Twilight must defeat Sunset Shimmer in a competition and be crowned Princess of the Fall Formal. Luckily she has some help along the way from some new, yet familiar friends!
If you are familiar with the My Little Pony series you probably already know that it is filled with messages of friendship and teamwork. Equestria Girls follows through on those lessons. Navigating a strange new world can be frightening. Making new friends, trying to fit in – these are all situations that our kids have or will go through. Twilight teaches us that you can do it. That teamwork and friendship really can help you overcome obstacles and win in the end.
My little one was glued to the screen during this movie. Besides the captivating story line there were the sights and sounds you would expect from a My Little Pony movie. Filled with colourful animation, music and of course the familiar cast of characters. Yes the characters were “human” for most of the movie but that didn’t make them any less familiar. This was definitely a win in our house. I loved the lessons, my daughter just loved it period.
