My husband thinks I have more than enough “gadgets” in our home. I love electronics, being connected and, well, just cool stuff in general. Generally when I bring a new toy home he just shakes his head and although he doesn’t say much I’m sure he’s thinking, “Great something else to plug in.”
I refuse to get a long distance package on my home phone. We already pay for long distances packages on our smart phones and I just cannot bring myself to give the phone company any more of our hard earned income. The smart phone long distance plans are ok but it’s so easy to burn through those minutes and them pay a premium when you go over, and sometimes it’s just more convenient to pick up the “regular” phone to make a phone call. When we do use the home phone for long distance we use one of those outside long distance providers which isn’t too bad but you have to remember to dial a series of numbers before dialing out so it’s just another inconvenience.
Afraid you will miss some of the features you are use to from your home or smart phone? No need to worry. The NetTALK DUO WiFi is loaded with the features you already love and much more:

My experience with the NetTALK DUO WiFi
Set up was pretty quick and painless. I connected the device to my router and followed the step by step instructions provided on the website. In minutes I was connected and able to make calls. After the initial set up you have the option to enter your wireless settings so you can connect your NetTALK DUO WiFi through your wireless network. Again this was quick and straightforward with instructions to walk you through the process. Once you’ve completed those steps you simply put your phone and the device where ever you like. No need to worry about being connected to a computer, router or phone jack. The only thing you need is an available power outlet.
I’ve had a chance to use the service for a while now and have been very pleased with it. Calls are clear and I haven’t experienced any of the dropped calls that I do with my mobility provider. I’ve also played around with a few of the features and they all function perfectly. One of my favorite features is the voice mail. It functions like any traditional voice mail but with a couple of extras. You can log into your account and access your voice mail via your computer or (and this is my favorite) you can have your voice mail actually emailed to you. It comes as an audio file, no need to call an access number or log into your account to retrieve it. You can simply click on it in your email and listen!
The NetTALK DUO WiFi will most certainly get a lot of use in our home. With friends and family all over the country and in the US it will now be painless (especially on the wallet) to pick up the phone and call. With 3000 minutes per month included in the basic plan (to Canada and the US) we won’t have to worry about those expensive “over” minutes like we do on our cell phones.
To learn more about the NetTALK DUO WiFi, including where to purchase please visit them at nettalk.com or nettalk.ca
NetTALK is also giving one lucky reader the chance to win their own NetTALK DUO WiFi device. That’s a value of $74.95 (CDN) or $64.95 (US) and includes one full year of basic service!
Contest is open to Canadian and US residents over the age of 18.
Contest closes August 31st.
